Prius battery problems are becoming a pretty wide-spread issue. It seems that the Prius battery is only good for about eight years. 1. Bad Fuel Mileage

This is a big indicator that your battery is starting to go. Basically what happens here is that the electrical system is no longer working in conjunction with the fuel system. Essentially your Prius is now burning more fuel that before because the electrical support is not there anymore.

2. Lack of Acceleration

You may have noticed that your Prius is not accelerating the way it did. This runs right along with the problem with the electrical system. The Prius cannot generate enough power through the battery to give it the acceleration that you are used to. 3. The Battery Can No Longer Hold a Charge
